The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially set Saturday, December 21 as commencement date for the 2019/20 football season.
This date will mark the beginning of the new campaign across three tiers – Premier League, Division One League and Women’s League.
Registration of players and officials by clubs is already underway and set to shut at 23:59 GMT on Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Today – Wednesday, November 20 – a window for the application of Club License was opened and will run through to the 29th.
The Inspection of match venues has also been slated for November 28 to December 15 between which the GFA is scheduled to organize a Club Licensing Workshop – specifically on December 2.
On Tuesday, December 10, there will be a workshop for all league club coaches which will be followed by a CMS Training for clubs the following day.
The GFA has scheduled to hold an Ordinary Congress on Thursday, December 12 to usher in the new season and as well decide on some pertinent matters.
A ceremony to launch all three leagues – Premier, Division One and Women’s – is slated for Tuesday, November 17 at a yet-to-be-confirmed venue.
The 2019/20 Ghana football season is expected to run for 35 weeks and end in July 2020.
