Ghana’s Emmanuel Boateng is reportedly close to completing a surprise move to Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
The 22-year-old forward has been excluded from Levante’s squad for Monday’s LaLiga trip to Deportivo Alaves with multiple reports claiming an impending transfer as the reason.
There are suggestions of a loan deal to the CSL side managed by former Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster while other reports claim it will be an outright transfer which could fetch Levante between €11m and €16m.
Boateng, who arrived on a €2.5m transfer, rose to fame in his debut season with Levante last term, scoring some important goals against Real Madrid and Barcelona (hat-trick).
However, this season, Boateng has so far featured 19 times for Levante in both league and Cup games with only a goal to his credit. He has not enjoyed constituent game time due to the huge competition in the attacking department of The Frogs with Roger, Mayoral, Morales and even compatriot Raphael Dwamena – one major reason making Levante interested in cashing in on the opportunity for a transfer deal.
Dalian Yifang is home to former LaLiga stars Nico Gaitán and Yannick Carrasco.
