WBO super bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe has secured a four-year co-promotional contract with the USA’s premiere boxing promotion outfit, Top Rank.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian boxing sensation attracted the attention of Top Rank earlier this year prior to flooring Jessie Magdaleno to become the title holder and by extension his country’s youngest ever world champion.
Top Rank chief Bob Arum announced the deal in a video message to Agoo TV on Tuesday:
“We are very happy to announce that we have signed your world champion Isaac Dogboe to a co-promotional agreement with Rising Star Africa.
“This is a long term agreement and together with Paul Dogboe and Mike Altamura, we will afford Isaac opportunities to win championships in multiple divisions,” he said.
Bob Arum also revealed plans to travel to Ghana to explore opportunities for Top Rank to, for the first time, stage an Isaac Dogboe fight in Accra.

Dogboe has twice fought before his home fans at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra but both occasions were self-promoted by his team, Rising Star Africa.
Speaking on behalf of his son, the CEO of Rising Star Africa Promotions, Paul Dogboe thanked “Bob Arum and Top Rank for this opportunity and believing in us…”
Isaac Dogboe recently blew away Japanese Hidenori Otake in a one-round knockout in his first title defense. He is scheduled to have another go on December 8 at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Meanwhile, Dogboe is expected to touch down his homeland for the first time since defeating Otake on Monday, October 8.
