The Accra Venue Local Organizing Committee for the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations was sworn in at the conference room of the Sports Ministry Thursday morning.
The deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Elizabeth Sackey, was named Chairperson of the 11-member Committee.
Assisting her as Vice Chair is Sophia Akpor while nine others work in various capacities as members of the Committee.
The 11-member team will ensure a successful hosting of the Women’s Afcon specifically in the Ghanaian capital – Accra – which will cater for four countries for Group A as well as the grand finale of the tournament.
The Accra Venue’s basic responsibility is to ensure that everything goes on as per the plans and requirements of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and Caf.
The 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled for November 17 to December 1 with Accra and Cape Coast as host cities.
