West Bromwich Albion are the latest club to be linked with Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah.
The Baggies failed to keep their premiership spot last season and are set to lose some of their key performers as they begin life in the EFL Championship in the upcoming 2018/19 season.
One of their star players, Matt Phillips, is already tipped for a switch to Newcastle United. And according to TEAMtalk, West Brom are lining up the 30-year-old Ghana international as his replacement.
Meanwhile, Adomah, last week, was linked with the Magpies though reports claimed they were yet to make a firm offer. Newcastle’s interest in his signature apparently has arisen due to manager Rafa Benitez’s growing frustration in their pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend. Adomah would represent a far more affordable alternative.
Albert Adomah was a key figure for Villa last season, scoring 15 goals as they finished fourth in the Championship – though they were unable to go on and win the playoffs in their bid to return to the Premier League.
According to Birmingham Live, Adomah is happy to stay with Villa. He is contracted at the club until 2020 and even had talks over extending his deal with former director of football Steve Round toward the end of last season.
