Ghana international Daniel Opare says he joined Belgian side Royal Antwerp because of his strong belief in the club’s project.
The right-back, 27, signed a two-year contract which has a renewal option of a further season with the Red and Whites on Wednesday.
“I have full confidence in the project of Royal Antwerp and the plans of the club management,” Opare told the club’s website.
The former Standard Liege defender is reuniting with Luciano D’Onofrio who is now the Sporting Director at Royal Antwerp.
Daniel Opare has not been involved in any competitive action since German side FC Augsburg decided to freeze him over a contract renewal misunderstanding after the January 2018 transfer window. He left the Bundesliga side as a free agent upon the expiration of his contract in June..
