Ghana striker Nana Poku has secured a return to the gulf by signing for Qatari club Al-Wakrah SC.
The 25-year-old striker’s deal with the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium outfit lasts till the end of the upcoming season with a further option.
Poku recently terminated his contract with Egyptian giants Zamalek after only six months of joining the side. He had twice after playing only 10 games in the Egyptian Premier League due to a series of injuries.
The former Berekum Chelsea goal poacher reportedly forfeited some $1.2 million payment due him in exchange for a free agent status in order to sign a free agent deal with Al-Wakrah.
Nana Poku left Brekum Chelsea for Israel’s Ashdod in Aaugust 2012. He has since enjoyed several stints at Hapoel Kfar Saba, Amidaus Professionals, El Shorta, El Makasa, Al-Shabab and recently Zamalek.
