Accra Hearts of Oak have announced reaching a transfer agreement with Albania’s KF Tirana over star midfielder Winful Cobbinah.
The gifted attacker joined the Phobians for a second on a two-year contract in February last year, having initially been sold to Saudi Arabian side Najran SC in October 2014 for $150,000.
Cobbinah, who had gone months without football, quickly rediscovered his form and became the kingpin in the Hearts set-up last season. His consistent performance saw him named the best player of the 2017 MTN FA Cup.
“The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has successfully negotiated a transfer agreement for the talented midfielder Winful Cobbinah to join Albanian giants, KF Tirana,” the club announce in a statement Friday.
“The transfer is subject to the player passing a medical with his new club and properly registering via the Fifa TMS,” it added.
Cobbinah came close to leaving Hearts of Oak during the January transfer window but a move to Danish side Viborg FF could not materialize over transfer fee disagreements despite training with the side.
