Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil has joined Belgium’s KRC Genk on an initial four-year contract.
The 20-year-old has an option in his contract to renew for a further year after the 2021/22 season.
Paintsil spent the past season on loan at Hungarian side Ferencvárosi TC from Division One side Tema Youth.
In his 27 games for Ferencvarosi last season, the winger scored 10 goals and made 7 assists.
Paintsil successfully completed his medical tests last weekend and will join the team at the start of preseason.
KRC Genk beat Belgian rivals RSC Anderlecht and Club Brugge as well as Swiss side FC Basel and Germany’s Werder Bremen were reported to the signing of the former local Black Stars attacker.
Joseph Paintsil will now team up with former Inter Allies centre-back Joseph Aidoo at Genk.
