Injury has forced top scorer Princella Adubea, Naomi Anima, Uheza, Gladys Amfobea and Adizatu Mustapha out of Ghana’s squad for the upcoming 2018 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The five players need immediate to correct their respective setbacks they suffered while at the Black Princesses’ camp during the World Cup qualifiers.
But Starr Sports checks indicate both the Ghana Football Association and the Sports Ministry have shown no seriousness in getting the needed funds to facilitate the surgeries for the players.
Meanwhile, Coach Yusif Basigi admits the absence of these injured key players will affect Ghana’s campaign at the competition as he will need to work harder to get players to replace them especially his goal scorer Princella Adubea
“It will really affect us, but you know life must go on, we have to re-adjust immediately.
“This is the time I have to watch really closely to get back-ups and even someone who will stand in for Adubea, this is the time we need to work this as soon as possible,” he told Starr Sports.
Basigi also added that “I hope the GFA and the Sports Ministry facilitate for these players to undergo their surgeries as soon as possible.”
The Black Princess are yet to hit camp for preparations towards the U-20 World Cup tournament which is scheduled to commence on August 5 in France.
