Bayern Munich have confirmed that young striker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt has been invited for Ghana’s international friendlies against Japan and Iceland.
“Great award for Okyere Wriedt! The top scorer of the amateurs of Bayern has been selected for the upcoming international matches of the national team of Ghana,” the Bundesliga giants announced via their official website on Tuesday.
“The team of coach Kwasi Appiah will test themselves against two World Cup participants.
“Ghana meet Japan on May 30 in Yokohama.
“They then play the Iceland national team in Reykjavik on 7 June.”
The 23-year-old was born in Hamburg to Ghanaian parents.
Okyere Wriedt joined Bayern last summer and is mainly with the reserve team where he has scored 17 times in 21 appearances. The striker has also made two first team outings this season.
