Inter Allies and Karela United recorded impressive victories on the road on matchday 13 of the 2017/18 ZylofonCash Premier League Wednesday.
There were also five home wins in the seven games played on the day. Here is a wrap on the matches:
– Kotoko 2-0 Elmina Sharks
Second-half goals from the heads of Emmanuel Gyamfi and Yacouba Songne saw Asante Kotoko handing Elmina Sharks their first defeat, 2-0 in ten league games.
– Ebusua Dwarfs 2-0 AshantiGold
Coach Bashir Hayford got one over his former club as he led an inconsistent Ebusua Dwarfs to beat AshantiGold 2-0 at Cape Coast Stadium. New signing Amos Kofi Nkrumah and Aikins Asante did the damage on the Miners.
– Berekum Chelsea 2-1 Medeama
All three goals were recorded in the first half as Berekum Chelsea stopped league leaders Medeama SC’s four-match unbeaten run at Golden City Park on Wednesday. Latif Salifu gave the hosts an 11th minute lead but it was cancelled out by Isaac Agyenim Boateng in the 24th minute. Zackaria Fuseini however restored the lead with what turned out the match winner five minutes later.
– Wa All Stars 0-1 Inter Allies
Inter Allies secured their first victory on the road this season after beating relegation-threatened Wa All Stars 1-0 at the Malik Jabir Park. Midfielder Michel Otou scored a 69th penalty for the Capelli Boys.
– Karela 2-1 Aduana
Champions Aduana Stars’ first visit to the CAM Park in Aiynase ended in defeat as Karela United beat them 2-1 thanks to a brace from Donald Wellington. Yahaya Mohammed had put the scores at 1-1 before the Sierra Leonean international scored a late winner.
– Bechem 1-2 Liberty
With 10 men, Liberty Professionals managed to overpower Bechem United 2-1 in an away fixture. Centre-back Simon Zibo scored the opener for the Scientific Soccer Lads in the 33rd minute but got marched off later in the second half. Kofi Agbesimah had equalized for Bechem six minutes after recess but substitute Tamimu Muntari snatched the full points for Liberty in the 85th minute.
– Dreams FC 1-0 Eleven Wonders
Issah Yakubu was the hero of the day as Dreams FC returned to winning ways against Techiman XI Wonders. In the 76th minute, defender Issah Yakubu got on the end of a good delivery from a corner by Patrick Arthur with a bullet of a header that left XI wonders goalkeeper John Moosie rooted to the spot.
– Hearts vs WAFA
This fixture will be played Thursday afternoon.
