Experienced French trainer Patrick Liewig has been handed the WAFA SC job until the end of the season.
The 67-year-old last coached Tanzania’s Simba SC.
A club announcement Thursday morning read: ”WAFA SC has appointed Patrick Liewig as the head of the First Team. The former Asec Mimosas coach has signed a contract until the end of the season.”
Liewig is well-known on the African continent having coached clubs like Stade Tunisien, Club Africain and d’EGS Gafsa, MC Alger of Algeria and Asec Mimosas.
WAFA have been without a head coach since Danish Klavs Rasmussen bowed out after eight matchdays in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
The Academy Boys currently place 4th on the league log with 18 points after 12 matches.
