Ghana striker Jordan Ayew returned to rescue a vital point for Swansea after they looked to have become Lady Luck’s latest victim against Everton on Saturday.
Kyle Naughton’s first-half own goal looked to have blocked their path towards Premier League survival despite a dominant performance against Sam Allardyce’s side.
But Ayew saved the day in his first game back after a three-match absence to ensure Swansea remain unbeaten when he has hit the back of the net.
The draw was only good enough for the Welsh side to drop down into 17th, five points clear of the bottom three.
Swansea had Olivier Giroud’s heroics against Southampton to thank for lifting the pressure and opening the door for them to take a giant stride towards Premier League safety.
