The 2017/18 Ghana Premier League hit the 100th goal mark and surpassed it during the matchday seven round of games over the weekend.
A total of 13 goals were recorded from 7 games, lifting the season’s tally at this stage to 103 (from 52 games played).
Asante Kotoko thought they were on course to snatch a point from their visit to Dawu against Dreams FC but substitute George Dwubeng delivered a sucker punch with his goal in the final minute of the game. The Porcupine Warriors thus slumped to their third defeat in seven games and now place 7th as well while the three points gained shoot Dreams FC up to 5th position.
Two other games on Sunday recorded late dramas as Karela United handed Wa All Stars a shock defeat at the Malik Jabir Park courtesy Ibrahim Moro.
The Cape Coast Stadium saw Ebusua Dwarfs come from a losing position to beat Liberty Professionals 2-1. Benjamin Eshun had given the away team a 24th minute lead via a controversial penalty before Alhaji Mustapha equalized and Dennis Nkrumah-Korash snatching victory a minute from time.
Eleven Wonders continued their impressive record at home by beating WAFA SC 2-1 at the Nana Ameyaw Park with goals from Yussif Hussein and Emmanuel Boahene coming in quick succession – two minutes. Captain Mohammed Alhassan pulled one back for the ‘Academy Boys.’ The results sinks WAFA into the relegation zone – 14th.
Stephen Amankona’s first half strike was enough for Berekum Chelsea to beat Bechem United by a lone goal at the Baba Yara Stadium. The game was moved from the Golden City Park due to a three-match Berekum Chelsea is serving.
On Saturday, Hearts of Oak lost 2-1 at home to Elmina Sharks while Medeama qlwo defeated Inter Allies by a lone goal.
