Wins for Dreams FC and Berekum Chelsea on Monday wrapped up matchday nine of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
Dreams FC moved up to second on the table after handing Aduana Stars a 2-0 defeat at Dawu while Berekum Chelsea overcame Liberty Professionals 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Dreams went into the game third on the table, but their emphatic win against the defending champions moves them to the second spot and level on points with leaders Ashantigold, who have a game in hand.
The game was moved to Monday following Aduana’s engagement in the Caf Confederation Cup in Madagascar last week, and Dreams produced a great second half display to snatch the win.
After a goalless first half, Patrick Arthur opened the scoring for Dreams in the 53rd minute with Issah Yakubu sealing the win with another thumping header seven minutes later.
In Kumasi, Frederick Addae and Edmund ArkoMensah were on target for Chelsea as they grabbed all three points in their replayed match. The match was called off on Sunday due to a heavy downpour.
Frederick Owusu Addae gave Chelsea an early lead in the 10th minute but Brite Andoh cancelled it for Liberty Professionals in the 32nd minute. NASCO man of the match Edmund Arko-Mensah scored the winner for Chelsea in the 70th minute to move them to 9th on the table
