Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah is scheduled to cut the sod for the rehabilitation the Kaneshie Sports Complex on Thursday.
The Ghana government facility has been in a very deplorable state after seeing very little maintenance by the state since it was built in the 1970s.
After touring the Sports Complex in April 2017, the Minister revealed plans to redevelop the facility which has been estimated to cost about $4 million.
While confirming the date for the sod-cutting of the facility which has been christened the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, the Minister said:
“The Kaneshie Sports Complex has got all the needed facilities so we are going to renovate it and make sure the accommodation there is up to a standard that befits the hosting of Black Stars players so we will not be wasting money on hotel bills when they are in Ghana.”
