Leaders AshantiGold fought back to draw 1-1 against Bechem United in Kumasi on Saturday.
The Miners have now failed to win for the first time in four games in the ongoing 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
AshantiGold looked like getting the first goal as they dominated Bechem United but goalkeeper Prince Asempa stood their way with back-to-back saves.
In the 17th minute AshantiGold were again denied by a goal-line clearance by Eric Owusu who was well-positioned to head out a goal-bound header by Appiah McCarthy.
Two minutes on, Emmanuel Owusu Boakye registered the opening goal for Bechem – he took the ball from midfield attracting the attention of four undecided AshGold players, released a pass but fortunately an onrushing Samed laid it back into his path before slotting past a helpless George Owu.
AshantiGold responded quickly but had to keep knocking until the 35th minute when Amos Addai blasted home the equalizer after a quick passing exchange with teammate Appaih McCarthy.
The tempo of the game subdued in the second half but Bechem United’s Maxwell Frimpong was unfortunate after coming off the bench only to be forced out of the game 13 minutes later. He came on in the 61st minute but suffered an injury which saw him making way for Yao Abotsi in the 74th minute.
Amos Addai was adjudged NASCO man-of-the-match. He also received a medal as part of his reward.
AshantiGold remain atop the league log with 10 points while Bechem United are now on four points from a possible 12.
