Ghana’s Ambassador to Cote D’Ivoire H.E Frederick Daniel Laryea paid a visit to the Black Queens on Tuesday afternoon.
The senior women’s national team held its final training at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny, venue for Wednesday’s Wafu Women’s Cup opener against host nation Cote D’Ivoire.
The Black Queens will face the Ivorians in the first match of the eight nation West African Women’s tournament.
H.E Laryea, who was with some staff of the embassy, presented assorted drinks and water to the team ahead of the game.
He further encouraged the team to make the nation proud by winning the competition just like their male counterparts who won the Wafu Tournament last year.
Ghana is in Group A alongside Burkina Faso, Niger and the host nation while Nigeria, Benin, Senegal and Togo make up Group B.
Ghana’s game against Cote D’Ivoire will kick off at 3:30pm.
Meanwhile, Portia Boakye has been named the captain for the Black Queens at the Wafu Women’s Championship.
