Ghana defender Daniel Opare says reports of his imminent exit from FC Augsburg are “just rumours.”
The 27-year-old right-back who joined the Bundesliga side in 2015 has his contract running out this summer.
His impressive outings this season has reportedly caught the attention of mostly English clubs in recent weeks, if reports from the British media are anything to go by. Stoke City, Everton, Swansea City and recently Leicester City are said to have expressed interest in signing Opare.
However, the former Real Madrid youth player says he will be happy to sign an extension with Augsburg.
“These are just rumours,” Opare told Kicker.
“My advisor and my big brother are taking care of these things. They are in good conversations with Augsburg.
“I’m ready to extend my contract and I’d be glad to be able to play here for several more years.”
Daniel Opare has previously played for FC Porto, RC Lens, Besiktas in Turkey, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia and Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold.
