Ex-AshantiGold player CK Akonnor says he is up for another spell as substantive coach at the Obuasi-based Ghana Premier League outfit.
Akonnor recently enjoyed a half-season stint where he coached the Miners to avoid relegation from the Ghanaian top division.
The 43-year-old was contracted to Dreams FC who okayed a request from AshGold when they needed the coach as stop-gap.
Akonnor has since reverted to his employers but the already impressed Obuasi side are reported to be preparing to offer him a permanent contract.
Speaking to Starr Sports, the former Black Stars captain confirmed talks are underway with AshGold.
“Well I’m back with Dreams FC but not as a coach. I am part of the family…”
“I have started talking to Ashantigold which means that if everything goes well, I will go back to the club,“ he told Starr Sports.
AshantiGold are expected to begin preparations for the upcoming season later in December.
