The senior national female side, Black Queens have been confirmed to take part in the maiden Wafu Women’s Championship set for February next year.
Cote D’Ivoire has been chosen as hosts of the tournament for eight countries.
Ghana will be up against the Ivorians, Nigeria, Togo, Niger, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Benin Republic in the race for the coveted trophy.
The Black Queens will use the competition as part of their preparations to host and win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations which comes off later in the year.
The draw for the regional showpiece has been scheduled for Ivorian capital Abidjan on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
The eight teams will be drawn in two groups with the hosts seeded in Group A and Nigeria seeded in Group B.
The maiden Wafu Women’s Championship has also been fixed for February 10-24.
