The Black Princesses of Ghana defeated Kenya 5-0 in a Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying match at Cape Coast on Sunday.
Four goals from Princella Adubea and a goal from Helena Obeng put the national U20 female in pole position to make it to the final stage of the qualifiers which comes off early next year.
Helene Obeng gave Ghana the lead before Adubea’s double brace for Coach Yusuf Basigi’s side.
The Princesses will travel to Kenya in a fortnight for the return encounter as they continue their bid for a sixth World Cup appearance. The match is fixed for November 18.
Should the Black Princesses advance, Ghana will play Cameroon in their final qualifying match in January.
The winner will then secure one of the two slots for Africa at the 2018 Fifa U-20 World Cup to be hosted by France.
