The Black Stars on Thursday defeated Glow-lamp Academy 5-1 in a preparatory match towards this weekend’s Fifa World Cup qualifying game against Egypt.
The game at the Cape Coast Stadium had five different scorers for the Ghana senior men’s team – Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Nicholas Opoku, Wakaso Mubarak, Raphael Dwamena and Lumor Agbenyenu
Coach Kwasi Appiah was able to field two different sides for each half as he tried different players in different roles.
The first half team comprised of; Lawrence Ati – Daniel opera, Abass Mohammed, Nicholas Opoku, Joseph Attamah, Godfred Donsah, Nasiru Mohammed, Edwin Gyasi, Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Nana Ampomah, Abdul Majeed Waris.
Appiah made nine changes in the second half with goalkeeper Richard Ofori, defenders Daniel Amartey, Kassim Nuhu, Abgeyanu Lumor, midfielders Mubarak Wakaso, Ebenezer Ofori, Godfred Donsah and attackers Patrick Twumasi, as well as Rafael Dwamena, getting a nod.
Ghana have failed to qualify for the World Cup but coach Kwasi Appiah is burnt on building a strong squad for 2019 Afcon.
