Christian Atsu may not be available for Ghana’s final 2018 World Cup qualifier at home this weekend.
The Black Stars host the already qualified Egypt at the Cape Coast Stadium on November 12.
Atsu could not complete the game as Newcastle United lost 1-0 at home to AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League last Saturday.
He had to be substituted during the final 15 minutes after tweaking a muscle.
Newcastle United will assess the winger Christian Atsu over the next few days – but manager Rafa Benitez admits it is too early to determine how serious the respective injury is.
“…with Atsu he felt something, but it’s too early to tell, we will see,” Benitez said.
The 25-year-old was making a return to the Ghana squad after pulling out of the last assignment in October due to injury.
