Asante Kotoko on Monday paid a courtesy call on the overlord of Tamale, Naa Dawuni Alhassan following their MTN FA Cup triumph.
Led by CEO Dr. Kwame Kyei in the company of “four powerful chiefs from Manhyia”, the new MTN FA Cup champions thanked the chief for the reception given the team during their short stay for Sunday’s final against bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak.
Dr. Kyei also used the visit to donate to the Tamale Education Fund.
The Kotoko team has since left Tamale for Kumasi by road. They defeated Hearts 3-1 at the Tamale Sports Stadium. Sadick Adams scored all the goals for the Porcupines with Thomas Abbey scoring the consolation goal for the Phobians.
Asante Kotoko now have nine FA Cup titles, one short of record winners Hearts of Oak.
