Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly turned to former Juventus prodigy Richmond Boakye-Yiadom to bolster strikeforce as the Premier League champions plot January swoop.
The Blues lost Diego Costa this summer after a long stand-off between the now Atletico Madrid man and the Italian coach.
Although they managed to bring in Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, who has made an impressive start, Conte is desperate to add more options to his forward line with Michy Batshuayi his only other option.
The 24-year-old Ghana hitman has already scored 10 goals and grabbed three assists in his 16 matches so far this campaign.
Another positive for Conte is that he already knows Boakye well after signing him for Juventus back in 2012.
Reports today suggest that the Premier League champions will send a scout to watch the ace in action during Red Star’s Europa League matches against Arsenal on October 12 and November 2.
And should he impress then they are ready to make a swoop in January.
Boakye boosts a fine goalscoring record in 2017, bagging 30 times, but it is his quality of finishes that has made him one of the deadliest in Europe.
