The Black Stars drew 0-0 against Uganda in their FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifying match played in Kampala on Saturday.
Coach Kwasi Appiah’s side needed a win to boost their chances of making it to next year’s World Cup.
The Black Stars managed to score deep into added time but referee Daniel Bennett controversially overruled the goal.
The result leaves Ghana at third in the group behind Egypt and Uganda.
The senior national team will play group leaders Egypt in their final qualifying match on November with the Black Stars having a very slim chance of qualifying ahead of the Pharoahs.
Ghana has 6 points in the group while Egypt lead with 9 points while Uganda has 8.
Congo are bottom of the table with one point.
