Head Coach of Ghana’s Black Stars B team, Maxwell Konadu has conceded his team is under pressure to deliver ahead of their WAFU Cup of Nations opener on Saturday.
The Black Stars B lock horns with their colleagues from The Gambia in the first match of the competition with kickoff slated for 3pm GMT at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Ghana approach the competition in the wake of their recent failure to make the CHAN 2019 tournament following a painful elimination at the hands of Burkina Faso.
The team suffered a 2-1 second leg defeat to the Burkinabe’s at home and eventually missed out on qualification to the CHAN courtesy a 4-3 aggregate deficit.
The development drew furious reactions from the football fans who are eager to see the team bounce back from that setback.
Ahead of his side’s clash with The Gambia, Maxwell Konadu who was speaking at a pre match press conference acknowledges the fact that his side can’t afford to fail to win which will hamper their chances of progressing further in the WAFU competition.
