Struggling Swedish topflight side AFC Eskilstuna have parted ways with former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Yaw Frimpong.
The Ghana international signed a two-year contract with the side in February but is having to leave just after about five months for “personal reasons” the club mentioned.
Frimpong, 25, featured only 10 times for Eskilstuna during the period, making a total 490-minutes game time in the process.
A Former England youth international, Frimpong switched allegiance to Ghana in 2011 and made his debut in 2012.
After a three-year spell at Arsenal, he was sent out on loan to Wolves, Charlton Athletic, Fulham and Barnsley. Capped once by Ghana, he played in Russia with Ufa and Arsenal Tula, before joining AFC Eskilstuna.
Meanwhile, Eskilstuna have signed 32-year-old former Nigerian international Taye Taiwo this week. The former Marseille and AC Milan left-back will be around until the end of the season.
