Arch-rivals Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak could set up a mouth-watering finale as they avoid meeting in the semifinal draw of the 2017 MTN FA Cup held on Tuesday.
Kotoko, instead will be on a revenge mission after being pitted against recent nemesis Medeama SC. The Mauve and Yellows have beaten the Porcupines in two FA Cup finals – 2013 in Accra and at the Essipong Stadium in 2015.
Hearts of Oak, who last won the FA Cup in year 2000, face recent league champions Wa All Stars.
Both semi-finals will be played at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on 1st October. The day has been subbed “Super Sunday”.
All semi-final teams will all receive GH¢7, 000 each plus GH¢1,000 worth of MTN airtime for their preparations.
Meanwhile, the Tamale Sports Stadium has been chosen as the venue to host this year’s grand finale on October 29.
The prize money for the 2017 MTN FA Cup stands at GH¢50,000 with the runners-up set to receive GH¢15,000.
Also, an amount of GH¢100,000 has been reserved by headline sponsors to support the team which will earn the mantle to represent Ghana in the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup.
