Daniel Amartey played 18 minutes as Leicester City suffered a dramatic 4-3 opening day defeat to Arsenal in the 2017/18 Premier League Friday night.
Leading 3-2 and needing a bit more steel, the Ghana international was thrown into the game replacing Shinji Okazaki as the visitors formed a three-man midfield at the Emirates.
But he could only look on as Leicester were undone by late goals from Arsenal substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud.
Shinji Okazaki levelled for City five minutes in after new French signing Alexandre Lacazette had given the Gunners the advantage after 92 seconds.
Jamie Vardy slammed City in front but the sides went in level after Danny Welbeck tapped in with the last touch of the half.
Vardy scored again on the hour, heading home a Riyad Mahrez corner, but City could not hold out.
