Mamelodi Sundowns will miss the experience of new signing Razak Brimah in the Caf Champions League following their failure to register him.
Caf recently extended its August 5 deadline to the 11th for clubs who have advanced to the quarterfinals of its two inter-club competitions to augment their squads.
But Champions League holders could still not meet the date due to the late arrival of the Ghana goalkeeper’s International Transfer Certificate from Spain, head coach Pitso Mosimane has indicated.
Brimah, 30, now has to settle for opportunities in the domestic competitions in order to prove his worth
“His ITC came late, so Razak is not registered for the Champions League. So he will help Denis [Onyango] in the local programme. We have Thela because we can’t go with two [goalkeepers],” Mosimane told media.
“Razak is number one for Ghana. Denis is number one for Uganda. I have to give Razak a chance because Denis misses a lot of games and international games are affecting him, so I will try give Razak a chance.”
Razak Brimah, the displaced Ghana first-choice, is in competition with two other top international goalkeepers – Denis Onyango and Kennedy Mweene.
