The Black Stars B rounded up preparations to face Burkina Faso in the first leg of their 2018 Chan qualifying tie with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Godwin Attram’s de Visser Academy on Monday.
Coach of the side Maxwell Konadu believes the result is a good wakeup call for his side who had gone 10 games without defeat since opening camp about three months ago.
“It was good exercise, this is the first time we have been beaten and for me it serves as a wakeup call even though we didn’t start with the best of our available players.
“But we had to give other players the opportunity to see what they have got, so now have a clearer idea of who is making the trip. So it is very good for us,” Konadu told reporters.
The Black Stars B are scheduled to leave Accra for Ouagadougou on Wednesday. They face the Burkinabes on August 11 and will host the reverse fixture in Kumasi the following week.
The winner of the Ghana-Burkina tie secures qualification to the 2018 Chan tournament which will be hosted by Kenya.
