A senior military officer, Lt. Col. Franklin Gyamerah-Amoako of the 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club is again the proud sponsor of this year’s edition of the Ball Boys and Girls Tournament.
The tournament is organized annually for the Ball boys and girls of the club to also display their skills in the game. It is scheduled to come off at the mess tennis court in Kumasi on Saturday 26th August, 2017 at 10.00am.
Lt. Col. Frank Gyamerah-Amoako said he is always motivated by the recent development currently on-going at the club to sponsor this tournament annually.
Speaking to Ultimate FM, President of the Club, S.S. Abebe said he was extremely grateful to Lt. Col. Gyamerah-Amoako for his gesture.
“We thank Lt. Col. Gyamerah-Amoako for this kind gesture. The tournament is organized in line with the club’s programme of developing the talents of our young colleagues who are of great service to the club.
“I’m urging individuals and other corporate institutions to help the club in its efforts to promote the game of tennis in the region in particular and the country in general,” he said.
In all, about 15 Ball boys & girls are expected to participate in the tournament. At stake is a giant trophy and cash prizes for the winner. All participants will also receive consolation prizes.
Participants include Blessing Owusuwaa, Bright Kabiri, Solomon Kabiri, Bernard Mensah Akeikor, Thomas Mahama, Eric Kwaku Duah, Nana Yaw, Ivan Wularu and Bismark Afriyie Siaw. The rest are Evans Tinduug, Isaac Balotiga, Tule Adongo, Thomas Abatumkwora, Bismark Adjei, Francis Boye and Stephen Stong.
The tournament is expected to attract tennis-loving fans in Kumasi to the Officers Mess Tennis Courts.
