The Ghana junior tennis competition is set to return August 21-26 after a ten-year break.
The competition dubbed “McDan Junior Open Championship” is scheduled for the Accra Sports stadium.
Over 120 children aged between 12-16 years from 10 regions will be competing for honors.
The Championship is among events outlined by McDan Group of Companies to help promote tennis in the country.
President of the Ghana Tennis Federation, Isaac Aboakye Duah believes the resurrection of this competition will help produce more world champions for the country.
“This competition is very important because it will help us nurture talents so that Ghana will be present in all international age category competitions.
“We can nurture athletes that will excel in the championship, help them in their education, get them in good schools that they can play tennis and learn the techniques so we can raise champions,” he told Starrsportsgh.com.
