National Sports Authority boss, Robert Sarfo Mensah says he is hoping Egypt loses to Uganda today to brighten Ghana’s chances for qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
Ghana has only one point from two matches and a win by Egypt over Uganda in today’s match will stiffen the Black Stars chance of booking a place at the tournament in Russia, as the pharaoh’s are currently leading the points Chat in group E with 6 points.
“I am praying and even fasting that Egypt will slip today so that Uganda can score them to make our chances brighter,” Robert Sarfo told Starrsportsgh.
He also urged the Black Stars to do everything possible to win all their four remaining matches as Ghanaians are counting on them.
“This year’s qualification is quiet similar to what happened to us in 2006 and I don’t think is beyond us. I just want to urge them that Ghanaians are counting on them so whatever they need to do to die a little for Ghana, they should do and qualify us to Russia.”
Meanwhile, 200 fans who will purchase popular stand tickets for the Ghana vs Congo game on Friday, will enter into a draw where 10 lucky winners will stand a chance of winning phones from Fero Mobile. This, according to Robert Sarfo, is a way of boosting attendance at the Baba Yara Stadium tomorrow.
