Government has revealed plans to build another multipurpose boxing dome specifically for the northern belt of the country.
Deputy Sports Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide announced this at the recently held elective congress of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA).
“We at the ministry are exploring opportunities to build another Boxing Arena but this time in the Northern sector of the country,” he said.
The immediate-past government built and commissioned the 7,000-seater Bukom Boxing Arena in November last year. The facility has already hosted three local and two international bouts.
The GBA elections saw Peter Zwennes retained as President after going unopposed. He will work with Ekow Mainly-Spain as his first vice, Abraham Neequaye and Fred Ghartey as 2nd Vice-President and Treasurer respectively.
