AshantiGold continued their resurgence with another victory on the road, this time against Accra Hearts of Oak on Wednesday.
A Daniel Gozar strike in the 12th minute gave the Miners full points and as well halted the Phobians’ unbeaten home run in the ongoing 2016/17 Ghana Premier League. AshGold remain at 13th position with 25 points.
Asante Kotoko also pipped Ebusua Dwarfs 1-0 at the new Cape Coast Stadium courtesy Baba Mahama’s 31st minute at the end of a swift counter attack. The Porcupine Warriors remain fourth withbut have reduced the gap with rivals Hearts of Oak to one point.
The race for the title got keener on Wednesday as the top two teams both recorded 1-0 wins in their respective games. Liberty Professionals thrashed bottom-placed Bolga All Stars 3-0 at the Karl Reindorf Park. Yusif Mubarik grabbed a first half opener before Benjamin Eshun and Richard Kissi Boateng completed the result in the second half.
The game between Medeama and Berekum Chelsea at the T&A Park was rained off due to heavy downpour. It is expected to be honoured on Thursday.
