Black Stars new boy Raphael Dwamena says he is ready to put on a good show when called upon in Sunday’s 2019 Afcon qualifier against Ethiopia.
The striker, who is set for his international debut after missing out on the Ghana squad for the Nations Cup in Gabon, insists that episode has toughened him up.
“I’m not disappointed that it happened to me because I know it part of football. I was even happy when I was dropped because I gained a lot of experience from the players. It was great experience for me the first time. That chapter is over, now we have a lot of opportunities ahead of us and we just have to focus.”
Dwamena is widely tipped to be handed a starting berth in the match at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
“I’m not under pressure to deliver considering the training I have gone through. The morale in camp is also great enough to get us victory,” the 21-year-old said.
“I’m a player who is also ready to fire so once given the chance to start, I will do my best to give the team nothing but a sweet victory, therefore I entreat the fans to come to the stadium in their numbers to cheer us to victory,” Dwamena added.
The FC Zurich showed the good form that saw him score 13 times in his first half-season spell with the newly promoted Swiss Supa Ligue side as he bagged a brace in the Black Stars’ test game last Wednesday.
