Ghana coach Paa Kwasi Fabin is putting his best foot forward as he recalls Najeeb Yakubu into the starting line-up for Sunday’s Under-17 Afcon final against Mali.
The right-back missed the semifinal with Niger due to yellow card accumulation from the group games.
Danlad Ibrahim, who has been impregnable at the Gabon tournament, retains his spot as goalkeeper for the Black Starlets while Gideon Acquah, John Otu, Abdul Razak Yusif join Najeeb to complete the defensive set-up to face the Aiglonnets. The team’s regular set-piece taker Arko-Mensah thus drops to the bench.
The impressive Faisal Osman continues his role in defensive midfield while Iddriss, Leveh and Alhassan take the advanced positions.
Emmanuel Toku and captain Eric Ayiah will pair to lead the attack for Ghana.
The Under-17 Afcon final is set for the Stade de l’Amitié Sino-Gabonaise in Libreville. Kickoff is at 17:30 GMT.
