The Youth and Sports Ministry has presented a cash of GHS 14,000 cash covering the surgery bills of injured former National Welterweight champion, Isaac Aryee.
On Tuesday, deputy minister Pius Enam Hadzide made good of an earlier promise to support the boxer who was knocked down two weeks ago by an alleged hit-and-run police driver.
Isaac Aryee was saved by a good Samaritan who rushed him to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital accident.
The Bukom native needed the amount for a corrective surgery on his broken neck, hence the Sports Ministry’s timely intervention.
The MOYS called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate the matter and if found to be true, institute the necessary sanctions.
