Three players – Samuel Sarfo, Sam Adams and Bernard Ofori have been shortlisted by the Premier League Board for NASCO Player of the Month Award for May.
Sarfo, a centre-back and captain for Liberty Professionals was immense for the Scientific Soccer lads and added goal scoring to his trade during the period. His impressive performance saw him earn calls to the senior national teams, Black Stars A and B.
Aduana forward Sam Adams, less heralded but has been instrumental in the Fire Club’s consistent run which has seen them go top of the Ghana Premier League table. He scored the opener in last Sunday’s 3-0 thrashing of Bechem United.
Completing the list of nominees for the May award is Medeama SC’s hat-trick hero Bernard Ofori. His goals against Bolga All Stars last Sunday shot him to second position on the scorers’ chart with 7. Ofori’s feat against the Stars of the East is rare, the second hat-trick recorded this season.
Meanwhile, Tom Strand, Evans Adotey and Yusif Abubakar have been nominated for the coach of the month award.
The Premier League Board will announce the winners before the weekend’s week 17 Premier League matches.
