Ghanaian champions Wa All Stars will on Sunday face Liberia’s Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) in a fight for bronze at the maiden tournament for league winners from four-selected West African Football Union nations.
Both sides lost their respective opening games on Friday evening to set up this encounter scheduled for the Stade Demba-Diop in Dakar.
Wa All Stars were battered 3-0 by Ivorian champions with Ghanaian and former Berekum Chelsea striker Stephen Asare Baffour among the scorers.
In the second semi-finals match, Senegal’s US Gorée defeated Barrack Young Controllers 5-4 on penalties. The Islanders set up a final clash for a $20,000 prize money with AS Tanda.
Both Wa All Stars and BYC take home $3,000 no matter the outcome of the third-place game on Sunday afternoon.
