The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has confirmed November 17 as the start date for the 11th edition of the Total Women’s Afcon to be hosted by Ghana next year.
Caf’s Executive Committee, at its meeting in Addis Ababa Tuesday, approved the qualifying schedule and competition dates in accordance with Fifa’s international harmonized calendar for women’s competitions.
The qualifications process will begin in February 2018 while the tournament comes off between November 17 and December 1.
“The qualifiers schedule for the 11th edition of the Total Women’s AFCON, Ghana 2018, was adopted. The preliminaries will begin on 26 February 2018.”
“In accordance with the international harmonized calendar for women’s competitions, the final tournament will take place from 17 November to 1 December 2018,” Caf said in a statement.
The Caf Executive Committee adopted calendars of the African Zone qualifiers for the U-20 and U-17 Women’s World Cups.
Recommendation was made to the Caf Secretariat to proceed with the opening of nominations in order to select the host country for the 2020 edition of the Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
