President of the Ghana Tennis Federation, Isaac Aboagye Duah believes least financed sports are in good hands under the New Patriotic Party government.
According to him, the new administration has a good record of supporting the growth of the sports.
“I don’t want to be political but if we are guided by history, when NPP was in power they really helped the Sports Authority with money for the various federations and all these financial support ceased when they left office.
“So with their track record, I believe strongly that they are going to help the least financed sports,” the Tennis Federation boss tells Starr Sports.
The lesser known sports have struggled over the years to get the needed attention and financial support from the government as chunk of the sports budget is spent of the Black Stars.
This situation has led to many federation heads managing the national teams from their own coffers.
