Title sponsor, GN Bank has presented a cheque of GH¢793,500 to the Ghana Football Association as the last tranche of their annual sponsorship money for the Ghana Division One League.
This took place during the launch of the 2016/2017 season which took place at the Coconut Groove Hotel in Accra on Friday.
An amount of GH¢600,000 was paid in the first year while GH¢690,000 was also released for the running of the country’s second tier league just last season.
Speaking at the event, GN Bank’s General Manager in charge of Central Operations, Mr. Allen Quaye, said they are committed to the development of the game hence their continual support towards the Division One League.
“We have over the years shown that we have the game at heart because we always want the growth of football especially the division one league,’’ he stated.
Chairman of the Division One League Board, Owoahene Acheampong also thanked GN Bank for the massive support and promised that this year’s competition will be devoid of violence.
“We are grateful to GN Bank for coming to our aid all these years and we promise to organize a violent free competition this year,” he added.
