The Black Stars will play two warm-up games before they fly into Gabon for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana will be embarking on a 13-day camping in the UAE and will play these games to test their readiness for the Nations Cup set for January 14-February 5, 2017, head coach Avram Grant confirmed at a press briefing Monday.
“We will play two games in Abu Dhabi,” he stated.
Ghana is likely to face at least one of the nations who have also pitched camp in the UAE preparing for the Nations Cup. The dates for the two games have been tentatively set for January 7 and 10 in Al Ain.
Meanwhile, Grant has named a 26-man preliminary squad as Ghana aims to end a 35-year wait for another African title. He is expected to submit his final 23-man squad by midnight January 4, 2017.
The Black Stars will finally leave and arrive in Port Gentil on January 13.
Ghana faces Uganda, Mali and Egypt in Group D of the 2017 Afcon.
